Education → Trust → Relevant recommendation → Optional affiliate link

Never: affiliate product first, with content written afterwards to justify it.

In practice that means:

A module explaining chipload is machine neutral and software neutral. It carries no product CTA at all, because the subject is not a product.
A module about choosing a hobby CNC compares the categories honestly, including machines we earn nothing from, and says plainly where a different machine is the better fit.
A module specifically about Onefinity homing or Vectric V-carve workflows can carry a prominent CTA for that product, because that is what the reader is already researching.
If another machine, software package or tool is more appropriate for a particular use case, CHIP says so.

CHIP's value as an independent reference is worth more than any conversion. If that ever stops being true, the site has failed at its actual job.
